Weddings

You may think that a friend or family member can MC your wedding, until you see the small differences the experience of Mark brings that makes you realise the importance of having him be a part of your big day.

Mark realises that the overall quality of your reception can come down to the quality of your host or MC. The MC has the power to create or drain energy from the room, create a buzz of excitement before each key moment and help control the flow of the event. If you create some unique key moments early in the reception, people will already have had a wonderful experience even before the bride and groom enter the reception and well before the fun starts on the dance floor.

Mark makes sure that your guests are not be bored or unaware of what is happening next, but are fully informed of the order of events and when they are occurring. This happens in a relaxed fashion and ensures guests do not miss key moments.

Mark improves the overall guest experience at your reception by undertaking the following:

Organisation

Mark personally meets his clients and covers the entire wedding in detail, ensuring everything important is covered. He can play as big a part or small a part as you like in the preparation and organisation of your wedding, and can assist by recommending timelines, suggesting ways to enhance the event and provide you with suggestions you may not have heard that can create a unique feel. This organisation carries throughout the night because he has a clear indication of how the evening should run and what your expectations are. He will also work closely with the function manager on the night to ensure a smooth flow of events (including meal times) and make sure guests do not miss speeches and key moments of the reception.

Personalisation

Mark has hosted many weddings and created unique ways of doing even the most standard formalities.

The bride and groom’s introduction into the room can create many emotions such as fun and romance. Mark personalises this to fit in with how you want your wedding to be remembered and starts your night the right way to help create a great event.

Mark can personalise the formal speeches for the evening and add extra fun to time-honoured traditions such as “the garter” and “throwing of the bouquet” to really enhance the enjoyment and entertainment of the evening for all guests. Mark’s introduction to begin your first dance creates a very different moment than simply getting announced.

Experience

Some of the things Mark does is because he has the experience and specalises in wedding entertainment. This includes ensuring:

  • the correct introduction order
  • pronunciation of names
  • guests are seated and aware the reception is beginning
  • key speakers are aware of the speech order and are present
  • Champagne is provided to all tables for “toasting”
  • A cake knife is present before the cake cutting
  • The staff dim the lights for your bridal waltz
  • The co-ordination of the event conclusion including how you plan to say goodbye to your guests and leave the reception.

Professionalism

Your family/friend MC will do the job for you, however it all depends on how you want it done. Many inexperienced friend MCs simply did not understand the role, are often nervous and make mistakes during key moments.

A friend of the family should always remain exactly that… a friend who sits back and enjoys the night with the bride and groom and family. Let’s be honest, brides and grooms have gone to far too much trouble and financial commitment on their one special day to have it ruined by a “nice gesture” from Uncle Mick.

Mark is there solely to MC and entertain at your reception. Your family/friend MC is also there to attend and be present, which can create problems when they are not organised, familiar with the venue and have had a few drinks. You need to hire Mark so that all your guests can enjoy the evening and not stress about what they need to do next.

Mark is an experienced MC who is there to provide the icing on the cake to your perfect day.
